Stay at Nima Lodge in Wilderness, Western Cape.

Nima, meaning sun, is situated in Wilderness Heights – bordering the beautiful Touws River and Wilderness National Park. Upon arrival, you're greeted with breathtaking panoramic views over the valleys and mountains of the Garden Route and it suddenly becomes very clear that this lodge couldn't be more perfectly named.

This heavenly hideaway offers private, self-catering accommodation, just a short drive from Wilderness village. With its expansive views over the valleys and Outeniqua mountains you'll feel like you're in a different world altogether.

Accommodation in Wilderness

Nima came to be after a married couple, one South African and one French-Canadian, fell in love with Wilderness and decided they wanted to call it home. Very soon did they realise they wanted to share their newfound stillness and peace found in the nature of the area.

The 4-star lodge consists of three spacious and newly renovated custom chalets, fully equipped with just about everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay.

The cabins come with fully equipped kitchens including a two-plate induction stove, a convection oven, mini bar fridge, coffee and tea facilities and all cooking utensils. Founder and owner, Vida, shared with us that their main aim with the cabins was to create a space where guests could fully relax and unwind. With the king-sized bed, giant soaking tub, amazing views, WiFi and speakers, as well as a comfortable sitting area, they certainly succeeded in creating a true "home away from home".

Each cabin has a swing and seating area out on the deck, to ensure you have every opportunity to soak up the beautiful scenery. The deck also winds down a wooden spiral staircase to an outside shower found underneath each cabin. The design and features of the lodge make it the perfect honeymoon destination or adult getaway.

Nima Lodge, Wilderness

Nima boasts a beautiful central lapa, where you can spend some time on the pool deck or join in for a yoga class over the weekends.

Dubbed "the heart of our lodge", they've created a communal space where guests can relax in the lounge, take a dip in the pool or gather around the fireplace and braai area. Here, they also serve healthy, vegetarian breakfasts every morning. I highly recommend including breakfast whilst you're there, even if just for one morning.

There are loads of things to do without having to leave the lodge itself, including morning yoga (weekends only), hiking trails, a visit to the waterfall, lounging on the sun deck or enjoying a swim in the splash pool with it's incredible views.

But, should you choose to take a drive, you'll find Wilderniss' town centre is only about 10 minutes away and all of the surrounding towns along the Garden Route within driving distance.

The attention to detail, calm atmosphere, friendly service and breathtaking location makes Nima the perfect stop on your next Garden Route road trip, the ideal honeymoon location or perfect for a romantic weekend break away.

And one last note on the road, the last stretch can seem challenging, however, all cars can do it. "Just remember to breathe, go slowly and we will see you on the other side." -Vida, founder and owner.
