Zambia, on assignment for Greenpop.

On assignment for Cape Town- based, environmental NGO, Greenpop, documenting their Festival of Action in Livingstone, Zambia.

The festival took place over 3 weeks in the months of June and July of 2017. Attendees are encouraged to participate in environmental workshops (including tree planting, environmental education at local schools and communities, and urban conservation art projects), connect with like-minded active citizens and, most importantly, reconnect with nature.

So say I completely lost my heart to Zambia is an understatement. It is both colourful and overwhelming, but above all else, absolutely beautiful- the landscape, lifestyle and people.

The following images were taken during a beekeeping workshop hosted in a nearby village. Beekeping is a way to economically empower the Livingstone farmers, providing many products for them to trade with, as honey and it’s by-products sell well in the marketplaces.
