apple oatmeal

This recipe is vegan, refined sugar free and gluten free (although that depends on the type of oats that you use).

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

(enough to serve 2)

For the topping:

vegan oatmeal

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place the apples and water in a saucepan, add a dash of cinnamon. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, covered, for 8-10 minutes or until apple is tender.

  2. In a separate little pot/pan, mix the oats, cinnamon, ginger, pinch of salt and add the water. Bring to the boil, stir in the honey/ maple syrup, then boil for 5-7 minutes, until oats are thick and creamy. Remove from the heat (that’s basically just a fancy way of saying cook the oats on the stove).

  3. Split the oats between two bowls and add the apples (a splash of warmed plant-based milk is optional).

  4. Top with coconut flakes, seed mix (or nuts if you’d like) and a last drizzle of honey.

ENJOY!
